Brexit is certainly the hot topic on the news right now. With a lot of uncertainty and questions in the air, it’s always best to get your information and advice directly from the source to avoid acting too hasty or not preparing enough for the changes ahead.

The government has just published a set of guidelines and advice for businesses to prepare in case of a no-deal Brexit. These are presented in form of short and easy to digest video clips which offer support and information on importing and exporting, tariffs, registering for your EORI number, changes on the UK border and how to prepare your customers.

What is an EORI number and who needs one?

Currently, you need an EORI number to trade goods with countries outside the EU. If the UK leaves without a deal, you will need an EORI number to continue to trade with EU countries. If you are currently importing or exporting with any of the member countries, the government advises to register for EORI to ensure smooth operation of your business in case of a no deal Brexit.

You will need a different application form depending on whether you are VAT registered or not and are planning on importing or exporting.

The government is also offering more personalised advice on how the changes may affect your specific business and how to prepare, visit:
